This is the LICENSE file inside RetainLog 1.7.1, word for word. It is the agreement you accept when you use RetainLog, and it is here so you can read it, or hand it to whoever has to read it, before you buy.
One purchase licenses RetainLog for one organization, on any number of its computers. Nothing below is a summary or a plain-English version: it is the text the download ships, reproduced exactly. Questions about it go to support@alderworks.dev.

END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

This agreement is between ALDERWORKS LLC ("Alderworks", "we") and the organization
or person that obtained this copy of RetainLog (the "Software", "you"). By
opening or using the Software you accept these terms. If you do not accept
them, do not use the Software and delete every copy you hold.
1. What is licensed
The Software is the files RetainLog.html and RetainLog Admin.html and the
accompanying files distributed with them, including the sample workbooks,
screenshots, the walkthrough video, and this document.
2. License grant
Subject to these terms, Alderworks grants you a non-exclusive,
non-transferable license to install and use the Software for your own
quality, production, and warehouse operations, including work you do for
your customers.
A purchased license covers one organization and both editions of the
Software. That organization may run either edition on any number of devices
it controls and make any number of copies for that use, including copies
kept for backup.
3. What you may not do
You may not:
a. sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, or otherwise redistribute the
Software, or make it available to anyone outside your organization;
b. modify, translate, or create derivative works from the Software, except
through the workbooks and templates the Software itself reads and writes;
c. decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of
the Software beyond what applicable law permits notwithstanding this
restriction;
d. remove, obscure, or alter any product name, version, copyright, or
license notice in the Software or its files;
e. use the Software in any way that is unlawful.
4. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. Alderworks retains all right, title, and
interest in the Software, including all intellectual property rights.
Nothing in this agreement transfers any of those rights to you. The
workbooks you open, create, or save with the Software are yours.
5. Your data and workbooks
The Software runs entirely in your browser and makes no network requests.
Workbooks, staged records, corrections, sign-offs, and searches stay on the
device where they were entered unless you save or export them. Alderworks
does not receive, store, or process any of that data, and is not responsible
for its retention or loss. RetainLog Admin can write changes directly into
the workbook you opened; keep backups of any workbook you rely on.
6. Updates and support
Alderworks may provide updated versions of the Software from time to time.
Updates are covered by this agreement unless they come with different terms.
Support is provided by email at support@alderworks.dev on a reasonable-
efforts basis and is not guaranteed for any particular response time.
7. The Software is a record-keeping aid
THE SOFTWARE IS A RECORD-KEEPING AID. IT IS NOT A VALIDATED QUALITY
MANAGEMENT OR DOCUMENT CONTROL SYSTEM, AND IT DOES NOT, BY ITSELF, CERTIFY
COMPLIANCE WITH ANY STANDARD, REGULATION, OR CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT. THE
TEMPLATE WORKBOOK, ITS SHEETS AND COLUMNS, AND THE DATA CHECKS THE SOFTWARE
RUNS ARE EXAMPLES AND AIDS. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONFIRMING THAT YOUR
WORKBOOKS, RECORDS, AND RETAIN PROCEDURES MEET YOUR OWN QUALITY SYSTEM.
8. Disclaimer of warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. ALDERWORKS DOES NOT
WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT IT WILL PRESERVE EVERY
ASPECT OF A WORKBOOK IT READS OR WRITES.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALDERWORKS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR
ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR
ANY LOSS OF PRODUCTION, PRODUCT, PROFIT, OR DATA, ARISING FROM OR IN
CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THIS AGREEMENT, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY
THEORY OF LIABILITY. ALDERWORKS' TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT SHALL
NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE LICENSE.
10. Termination
This license ends automatically if you breach these terms. On termination
you must stop using the Software and delete every copy you hold. Sections
4, 7, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.
11. General
This agreement is the entire agreement between you and Alderworks about the
Software and replaces any earlier terms. If any part of it is found
unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Alderworks' failure to enforce a
term is not a waiver of it.
