Alderworks builds software for engineering, quality and production teams. Every tool here started as a problem worth solving properly rather than as a market worth entering, which is why there are few of them and why each one is finished before it is announced.
What we take on
The brief is always the same shape: someone doing careful work by hand, repeatedly, with a tool that was never built for it. That is the only test a piece of work has to pass to become an Alderworks product, and it turns up in more places than one industry. What is in development stays unnamed until it is ready to be used, because a name announced early is a promise made on somebody else's behalf.
Professional work gets professional treatment
Every product on the shelf has a support commitment behind it, and what else it needs follows from how it runs. Alderworks Equipment Management Software is a hosted service that carries records which have to survive an audit years after the technician who made them has moved on, so it has isolated customer workspaces, explicit roles, and reviewable high-impact actions. SpecRun, ShiftHandover, RetainLog, PullPlan, CoverPlan and EquipLog, and the Alderworks Quality Suite that holds all six, run on your own computer, so they are built to send nothing anywhere and to leave your files in a form your own quality system controls. Anything that cannot carry a support commitment does not go on the shelf.
Built from the work
Features follow the job that already existed. Calibration, preventive maintenance, work orders, imports, reports, and QR access are in Alderworks Equipment Management Software because quality teams were already doing those things across spreadsheets, folders, and email reminders. SpecRun takes the test readings that were being typed into a spreadsheet, checks each one against the spec, and writes the workbook with a result on every row. ShiftHandover builds the handover a shift lead was already writing by hand into an email, set up to the stations and equipment that floor already has. RetainLog keeps the retain log workbook a team already has rather than asking them to move it, PullPlan replaces the spreadsheet a sampling plan was worked out in, CoverPlan puts a team's time-off requests, and the answers to them, in the shared folder the team already has, and EquipLog takes a shop's calibration list out of the spreadsheet it was kept in, with what happened at each calibration, and keeps it in one Excel workbook in the shop's shared folder. Each one fits the records people keep instead of asking anyone to reorganize around the software. The Alderworks Quality Suite puts all six in one file, working exactly as they do on their own, so a team that uses several sets up one folder, one admin and one set of lists instead of six.
Your records stay yours
In Alderworks Equipment Management Software, data comes in through imports and leaves through exports, reports, certificates, and public links. Nothing is held back to make a subscription harder to leave. SpecRun, ShiftHandover, RetainLog, PullPlan, CoverPlan, EquipLog and the Alderworks Quality Suite never send your data anywhere: they run on your computer, keep work in progress in your own browser, and write the Excel workbooks, Word documents, handover files, calendar files, CSV files and printed reports you keep.
