Nothing to install
DocLog is one file that opens in Chrome or Edge, the browser already on the computer. No installer, no admin rights and no server, so there is nothing for IT to approve or set up.
DocLogThe team’s documents, in one place
DocLog shows every file in the folder your team already shares, titled by its folders and its name, and finds any of them by its name and the folders it is in. Nothing needs adding one by one, nothing is filled in about a document, and no file is moved, renamed or changed. Open one file in Chrome or Edge on each computer, with nothing to install.

No IT involvement
DocLog runs in the browser you already have, from one file. One person can buy it this afternoon and the next shift can use it: no install, no IT ticket, and nothing leaving your network. Your data stays in your own files, in the folders your team already uses.
DocLog is one file that opens in Chrome or Edge, the browser already on the computer. No installer, no admin rights and no server, so there is nothing for IT to approve or set up.
Nobody signs up or signs in to anything of ours. Open the file and start work: there is no license server to reach and no subscription to lapse.
It makes no network requests at all. It works on a line with no internet, and nothing you type is ever sent to us or to anyone else.
Your documents stay where they are, in the folder your team already shares on your network drive. The only file DocLog writes for itself is a small settings file at the top of that folder, with old versions of it kept beside it.
How it works
Open DocLog and choose the folder where the team keeps its documents, such as a shared drive everyone can open. Every file in it, however deep, shows at once, and nothing in it is moved or changed. Every other computer chooses the same folder.
Type part of a file's name or of a folder it is in, or choose a folder beside the list. Open the file in a click, or copy its path to send it on.
Pin the documents you use and they stay at the top; Recent shows the ones you opened last. An admin, if you set one up, adds files and sets the company name, the word for a document and the passcode.
What it does
Try it before you set anything up: Try it with a made-up folder, on the first screen, opens a made-up site’s procedures, work instructions, forms and drawings. Nothing in the demo is saved, and Leave the demo puts you back where you started.
The admin passcode stops accidents, not people: anyone who can edit the settings file in Excel, or use the browser’s developer tools, can get past it. What keeps the folder safe is who can write to it.
DocLog shows the files in your folder as they are. It keeps no document numbers, revisions, statuses or owners, does not approve or review a document, and does not say which revision is current, and its search matches file and folder names only. Make sure the documents in the folder are the current, approved ones, and that your document control meets your own requirements.

Price
One payment licenses DocLog to your organization, not to a seat, so everyone who looks up a document and every admin can use it. The download starts as soon as payment completes, the link is emailed to you, and the same link fetches every 2.x update. Stripe sends the receipt and an invoice for your records.
All sales are final. DocLog is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and the copy you download is yours to keep. Look through the screenshots on its page to see whether it fits before you buy.
DocLog goes on sale soon.
Add it to your suite. Every Alderworks app you buy counts toward the $599 Alderworks Quality Suite, all nine apps in one file. With DocLog bought, the other eight together cost you $450 at most: each costs its own price until the one that would take you past $599, which costs only what is left and brings every app.
If there is ever a 3.0. It is a new purchase; your 2.x license keeps working and keeps getting 2.x releases.
Questions before or after buying go to support@alderworks.dev and reach someone who worked on DocLog. Answered by email, as soon as we can; we do not promise a response time.
What IT will ask. The license agreement that comes in the download, what the tool sends and stores in security, and what a purchase shares with us in privacy.
